I wrote down my manager's phone number and double-checked that I entered it correctly. However, every time I try to text the number, I get an error saying it's invalid. What could cause this, and what should I try next?

The number could still be wrong, outdated, or accidentally written down incorrectly. Try calling it instead of texting, preferably from another phone, and confirm the number directly with your manager.
There have been cases where a number works normally one day but temporarily returns an invalid-number message because of a carrier outage or routing problem. Test another contact to make sure your own phone and network are working, then try again later.
It may be a temporary carrier or network issue. Number transfers between carriers can occasionally cause one network to treat a valid number as inactive. If calls also fail, waiting a while or contacting your carrier may help.
I’ll try calling from another phone and check with my manager in person, since it’s possible they gave me an old or mistyped number.
