I ran a speed test on my iPhone 16e using the Huawei B315s-607 modem. The upload speed was 14.9 Mbps, but the download speed was only 0.37 Mbps. I've already forgotten the Wi-Fi network and reconnected, but that didn't improve things. What could cause such a large difference, and what troubleshooting steps should I try?

Download performance may be suffering from local congestion, especially if many nearby users are consuming bandwidth at the same time. The B315s-607 also supports 4G rather than 5G, so its available speeds depend heavily on the local 4G network. Restarting the modem may help by making it establish a fresh connection with the provider.
That kind of imbalance can happen with a weak or congested mobile network connection. Check that both external modem antennas are connected correctly, and try repositioning them rather than pointing them in the same direction. It’s also worth checking the modem’s signal information and contacting your provider if the signal or service looks poor.
A download result of 0.37 Mbps is unusually low compared with 14.9 Mbps upload, so I’d test again at different times and, if possible, with another device connected directly to the modem’s Wi-Fi. That can help determine whether the issue is the phone, the wireless connection, or the provider’s mobile network.
So upload can really be much faster than download? I didn’t realize the two speeds could differ that dramatically.
