My HP Victus 15 fa2000-series laptop connects to Wi-Fi briefly, then the Wi-Fi option disappears completely. Shutting it down and powering it back on only restores Wi-Fi temporarily, while restarting often leaves it unable to connect from the beginning. I have already tried restarting the laptop and updating the drivers. In Device Manager, the built-in Realtek 8852BE wireless card is listed, but it becomes greyed out after Wi-Fi disappears. The problem began yesterday, even though Wi-Fi worked normally before then. Phone tethering still works.

The greyed-out Realtek adapter points more toward the wireless card or its connection failing than a problem with your router. You could try uninstalling the adapter from Device Manager, selecting the option to remove its driver if offered, then installing the latest driver from HP's support page. If it keeps disappearing, the card may be defective. Replacing it with a compatible Intel adapter is often a better long-term option than using the same Realtek model. A USB Wi-Fi adapter is the simplest workaround if you do not want to open the laptop.
Before replacing hardware, check the adapter's power-management settings. In Device Manager, open the Realtek adapter's properties and disable the option that allows Windows to turn off the device to save power. Also check the advanced power plan settings and set wireless power saving to maximum performance. If the adapter still disappears or becomes greyed out after those changes and a clean driver reinstall, hardware failure is increasingly likely.
I have never used Ethernet with this laptop. Phone tethering works, so the problem seems limited to the built-in Wi-Fi adapter.
