My Wi-Fi connection used to work normally on both my laptop and phone, but recently my Android phone connects to the network while reporting "No internet access." The internet still works without problems on my laptop. I've already tried switching between a randomized MAC address and the device MAC address, but neither option fixed it. I'm using a Motorola Edge 40 and have Proton VPN installed, although it is currently turned off. What else should I check?

Since the phone is an Android device and has Proton VPN installed, check whether its VPN profile or always-on setting is still affecting the connection even when the app appears to be off. Temporarily disable the VPN profile or uninstall the app, then reconnect to Wi-Fi. If that doesn’t help, forget the Wi-Fi network, restart the phone, and connect again.

I’m using a Motorola Edge 40. Proton VPN is installed, but I currently have it turned off.
