Windows 11 Wi‑Fi Shows “No Internet, Secured” After Installing a Game

Download the latest Wi‑Fi driver directly from the laptop or network adapter manufacturer’s website, then reinstall it. Windows’ built-in driver may be damaged or incompatible. If the problem began immediately after the installation, System Restore could also roll the relevant settings back to a restore point from before the game was added.

If you genuinely suspect malware, changing a few network settings may not be enough. Back up important files, scan from a trusted bootable security tool if possible, and consider a clean Windows installation. That’s the most reliable way to remove anything persistent, not just deleting the visible app.

Check the Wi‑Fi adapter’s IPv4 settings and make sure both IP address and DNS are set to be obtained automatically. Also verify that DHCP is enabled on the router and that the laptop is receiving a valid local IP address, gateway, and DNS server. An incorrect DNS or gateway setting can produce this exact message.

Confirm that the router and adapter support the same security mode, preferably WPA2 or WPA3, and check that the laptop’s date and time are correct. A badly incorrect clock can interfere with authentication and Windows’ internet-status check. Set the time manually once, test the connection, and then turn automatic synchronization back on.
