After installing a recent Windows update, my laptop can no longer access the internet. The Wi-Fi icon has changed to a globe, and the Quick Settings panel no longer appears, so I can't easily control Wi-Fi or adjust the volume. Has anyone experienced this after an update, and what fixed it?

A globe icon usually means Windows isn’t connected to a network, though it doesn’t necessarily mean the Wi-Fi hardware is broken. Try opening the network settings directly by pressing Windows Key + R, entering `ms-settings:network-wifi`, and pressing Enter. From there, check whether Wi-Fi is enabled and reconnect to your network.
The globe is exactly what I’m seeing, and the Quick Settings panel is missing too. I’ll try opening the Wi-Fi settings this way.
