Hey everyone, I've got a 3070 and plan to upgrade to a 5070 in the future. I'm trying to decide if the 9600X is sufficient or if I should go for the 9700X to consistently hit over 200 FPS at 1080p in Warzone. Any insights would be super helpful!

If you play more demanding games that can use 8 cores, it might make sense to opt for the 9700X. But if the price difference is significant, the 9600X is a great value. The performance for most games is pretty close, so it's about finding what works for you.

9800X3D is way out of my budget, so sticking with the 9600X sounds good!

Check this out! They're practically the same in performance based on benchmarks. It really depends on your budget, but if you can find a solid deal on the 9700X, it might give you a bit more future-proofing. Just make sure it's worth the extra cash!

Is one really more future-proof than the other, or do they pretty much perform the same?

Thanks for the insight!

Warzone can definitely benefit from an 8-core CPU, especially at 1080p. But I'd say don't break the bank for that extra performance in just one game. If budget is tight, the 9600X is a solid choice!

Appreciate your take on this!

For more FPS, I recommend investing in a better CPU if you're willing to spend around $1k. The higher the resolution, the less strain on the CPU. At 1080p, the performance gap narrows down at 2K or 4K. If you're leaning towards a 9700X, I think that makes sense!
