I'm really stressed out right now. I tried to free up storage on my iPhone by transferring photos to my computer. I connected my iPhone to my Dell computer using the phone charger and went into the internal storage, thinking I could delete older photos from 2024 and 2025 while keeping the ones from previous years. Unfortunately, I didn't realize that deleting them from that location would also remove them from my phone! I don't have iCloud backup enabled, and I didn't copy the files to my computer before deleting them. Now, I'm panicking because I thought I was just moving them. The folders on my computer still show the files with names like "202508__" but they say they're empty. I haven't unplugged my phone yet, and I'm desperately seeking any software or method that might help me recover these photos. I'm really upset and could use some advice!

Just a thought—have you checked the Recently Deleted section in your Photos app? It might seem basic, but sometimes it’s the easiest things we overlook. If they're not in there, the recovery software is your best bet.
Thanks for the reminder! I’ll check right now.
Once you delete files, they don't vanish immediately; it often just flags that space as available for new data. This means there's a possibility for recovery, especially if you act quickly! Try to avoid using your phone to minimize overwriting data. The more you use it, the less likely you’ll recover anything. Consider reaching out to a pro data recovery service if software options don't work out. It might be pricey, but it could be your best shot!
What should I stop doing right now? Thanks so much!
I’m freaking out, do you think I really have a chance to recover them?
It sounds like you might be in a tough spot since you deleted the files directly from the iPhone storage without a backup. Normally, if you deleted photos on your phone, you could recover them from the Recently Deleted album, but you've bypassed that option. Since you mentioned that your files still show as empty, there's a chance they might be lost unless you have a backup somewhere. If you're looking for recovery software, I'd recommend trying things like Dr.Fone or EaseUS MobiSaver, which are known for helping with recovery from iPhones. Just be careful not to use your phone too much until you get a chance to try these tools, as new data could overwrite what's left! Good luck!
Thanks for the tips! I’ll check out those recovery options.
Will those really work if I haven’t unplugged my phone? I’m so anxious!

I didn’t check that because I thought I deleted them directly... I’ll look now!
