Advice for a Beginner on Building a White AMD mITX PC

Hey everyone! I'm pretty new to the PC building world; my last experience dates back to when Windows XP was the norm, using a Pentium 4 single-core processor back in 2009. Recently, my aging laptop has decided to give up on me, so I'm diving into building a new PC that I want to last a long time. My primary usage will be work, graphic design, and some casual gaming. I've bought some parts at a discount, but as I wait for them to arrive, I'm starting to get worried about whether everything will actually work together when I power it on.

The main concern I have is about the RAM: I have Kingston DDR5 Fury Beast RGB 32GB (2x16GB) rated at 6800 CL34 EXPO. Should I really be swapping that out for a 6000MHz CL30 set, or would the RAM I have be compatible with my AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D CPU? Here's a rundown of my build:
- Motherboard: Gigabyte X870I AORUS PRO ICE
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D
- Cooler: Deepcool Assassin IV White 140x120mm
- RAM: Kingston DDR5 Fury Beast RGB 32GB (2x16GB) 6800 CL34 EXPO white
- GPU: XFX Radeon RX 9060 XT Mercury Gaming OC White 16GB GDDR6
- PSU: Corsair RM750e 750W 80 Plus Gold ATX 3.1
- SSD: 1x 1TB M.2 + 1x 2TB Silicon Power M.2 PCIe NVMe UD70

Any suggestions or insights would be hugely appreciated! I'm aware that perhaps the GPU and PSU could be better, and maybe even the RAM amount, but from my experience with a Ryzen 7 5800 laptop with 32GB RAM and an RTX 3080, I haven't encountered major issues. Thanks a lot!

Honestly, your build looks pretty impressive! But it seems like you're paying a premium for aesthetics with that all-white theme. Just a heads up, function over form is sometimes the better route unless you really want your first build to look good. But if that matters to you, then go for it!

Haha, fair point! I'm definitely prioritizing looks for my first build, but I appreciate the input!

I’d recommend downgrading your RAM to 6000 CL30. Anything higher might confuse the Ryzen’s memory controller a bit, and the performance difference will hardly be noticeable. If you're not fully utilizing the CPU’s capabilities, like doing heavy multitasking or pro work, consider swapping the 9950X3D for a 9800X3D. Also, for the GPU, swapping from a 9060 XT to a 9070 XT could be a more balanced choice unless your workload truly demands those extra cores. Just a thought!

The 6800MHz RAM might actually hinder performance with the Ryzen 9000 series CPUs due to a weird frequency dead zone, so a 6000 CL30 is likely a better fit. You could technically run 6400 CL32, but you'd need to fine-tune your BIOS for that, which might not be worth the hassle. Plus, if you're worried about 32GB not being enough, remember that replacing the RAM is more effective than adding more sticks. Stick to two sticks for optimal performance!

Totally agree! Plus, GPU performance is crucial if you're doing graphics-heavy work. If you could get an Nvidia card, it might serve professional applications much better now!

Thanks for the advice! I'm going to stick with 32GB for now since budget is tight.
