Advice for Building a PC to Play Fortnite at 1440p

I'm helping a friend assemble her first PC and we want to ensure it can run Fortnite smoothly at 1440p medium settings with around 150fps. Here's the current build we're considering: [PCPartPicker List](https://pcpartpicker.com/list/thyVKq). Any thoughts on whether this setup will meet our needs, or suggestions for improvements?

I suggest downgrading the CPU to a 7600X or 9600X. The 7700X isn't really necessary for 1440p gaming. Also, you can skip the thermal paste since the cooler comes with a tube that's good enough. As for storage, it looks like the split drives aren’t needed anymore; a single 2TB drive might be more cost-effective and performance-efficient. And if you're open to it, consider switching the power supply to a Vetroo G5 for less cost without sacrificing quality. Overall, I've mapped out a build that is slightly more expensive but may yield better gaming performance!

Wouldn't I still need an M.2 heatsink to prevent the SSD from overheating?

If you're looking at Unreal Engine 5 games, Nvidia cards tend to perform better. But if she’s okay with some tweaking, AMD can offer a great value. Just keep in mind that for someone who prefers simplicity, going with Nvidia could save time and hassle during troubleshooting.

Definitely skip the thermal paste; the cooler includes a good amount with it. If you're going for an AMD setup, the 7600X and an RX 9070 would definitely offer better performance. For your motherboard, a B650 one might be a better fit too, considering the price-to-performance ratio. That would optimize your build for gaming without breaking the bank.
