I'm planning to add a 500GB hard drive from an old PC to my main setup and install Linux on it. Does anyone have tips for dual booting with Windows?

It's helpful to keep track of the sizes of your partitions. If you can, leave some unallocated space on the drive for Linux to install to. When you set up Linux, just point it to that unallocated space. Also, remember to turn off fast boot on Windows to avoid issues with reading and writing to the Windows partition if BitLocker isn't enabled.

If I'm using a completely different drive for Linux, do I still need to worry about partitions?

Make sure to double-check everything before you hit that partition button! It's super easy to accidentally mess something up, so being cautious is key.
