I'm looking to build a custom gaming PC budgeted around $1800. This rig will be used for gaming, as well as work in Unreal Engine and Blender, primarily for creating high-poly models and scenes.
I've put together a parts list that totals up to around $1718.22. Here's what I've got so far:
- **CPU**: AMD Ryzen 7 7700X 4.5 GHz 8-Core Processor - $276.99
- **CPU Cooler**: Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE - $34.90
- **Motherboard**: ASRock B850 LiveMixer WiFi ATX AM5 - $189.99
- **Memory**: Kingston FURY Beast 32 GB DDR5-6000 - $114.99
- **Storage**: Kingston NV3 2 TB NVME SSD - $115.99
- **Video Card**: MSI VENTUS 3X OC GeForce RTX 5060 Ti - $710.38
- **Case**: be quiet! Pure Base 501 Airflow ATX - $109.99
- **Power Supply**: be quiet! Power Zone 2 850 W 80+ Platinum - $164.99
I'd love any suggestions or modifications you might have, as there may be things I'm overlooking!

Your GPU choice is definitely the weak link here. Look into the RTX 5070 Ti — it’ll give you way better performance for not much more. You're paying a premium for the 5060 Ti and it just doesn't make sense!
You might want to consider downgrading the CPU a bit. The Ryzen 7 7700X is pricey for what it offers; the non-X version does just as well for less than $200. That said, with the cash saved, you could grab a better GPU like the 5070 Ti instead of the 5060 Ti, which is a bad deal at that price point!
Check out this build I found for a similar price with a 5070 Ti instead! [Link to build](https://pcpartpicker.com/list/HsRkPJ) It might give you a better performance for gaming and design work. Plus, the parts look solid!
That’s a solid recommendation! Definitely worth considering.
Totally agree! The performance difference just isn't worth the extra cash for the 7700X.
