I'm looking to build a new desktop PC since my laptop has died, and I'm eager to get back into AAA gaming as well as some Python-based image processing for a personal project. I'm considering whether to go with the AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D or the Ryzen 7 9800X3D for my build. Is the 9th generation worth it now, or would it be better to save some money for future upgrades? I've already got some components like the case, monitor, storage, and peripherals. I waited too long to buy the important parts, and now I'm feeling a bit anxious about it. Here's the build I've put together so far, and I'd love to hear your thoughts or recommendations!

That motherboard is really pricey at $390. Are you looking for specific features? You could save quite a bit by going with a more mid-range option, like one that's $200 less. Also, remember that chiplet-based AM5 processors can’t utilize 7200 MT/s RAM fully, so you might not see much gain over a 6000 MT/s kit which is cheaper too. Just a heads up on that super flower PSU; it’s pretty loud, rated higher than average on the noise scale. If quieter is better, consider a different model!
Just curious, do you plan to upgrade to a higher-end GPU later? That might justify getting a 1200W power supply now. Otherwise, a lower wattage could be enough for your current build! 1200W is a bit overkill unless you're aiming for something really demanding in the future.
How much does the aesthetic matter to you? The RAM you chose is DDR5 7200, which is really more suited for Intel systems. With AMD AM5, it’s often better to go for 6000 MT/s, or you could even push it slightly with 6400 MT/s. If you’re willing to switch to white RAM instead of going for pink, you'll find cheaper options that still fit your build nicely.
I’m okay with white RAM! My concern was just that the color scheme would look off if I went for black.

Yeah, I thought about future-proofing, plus it should help with noise levels during regular use.
