Advice Needed for Building a Long-Lasting Gaming PC

I'm looking to build a gaming PC that I won't need to upgrade for at least the next five years. My current setup is a 2070 Super, which I've had for about five years now, and it just isn't cutting it anymore. I've missed out on a lot of recent game releases because of performance issues. Here's the draft of my build I started: [https://pcpartpicker.com/list/nmGqXR](https://pcpartpicker.com/list/nmGqXR). I would really appreciate any advice or suggestions for changes to improve my setup!

Is your build primarily for gaming, or do you also need it for productivity tasks? If it’s mostly gaming, I'd suggest reconsidering the 7900X and the 64GB of RAM. For gaming, 32GB should be more than sufficient, and RAM is easy to upgrade later. I’ve found that paying extra for aesthetics like RGB isn't worth it unless you're really into that. Opt for better performance instead! I went for the Fractal North case myself; it's a good balance of looks and functionality. If you need more productivity power, think about going for a 5070 Ti alongside a 9900X3D or 9950X3D instead.

Got it! I really wanted a nice looking rig but I appreciate the heads up. Just to clarify, I only use my PC for gaming.

It looks like you're spending too much—about $700—on brand names, RGB, liquid cooling, and an SSD that's overkill for gaming. If you were to go with an all-white build, check this setup: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/9CZZPJ. I’d suggest switching to a 9800X3D for the CPU and opting for a dual tower cooler instead of an AIO. You're fine with 32GB RAM while still getting solid performance. Just keep in mind that some premium features come with a hefty price tag.

What other components are you running in your current setup? It helps to know what you're working with; it might inform your new build decisions.

I’ve got a Ryzen 5 3600 and 32GB of RAM from my first build five years ago, with an Aorus B450 Elite motherboard.
