Advice Needed for CPU Upgrade from 9400f

I bought a prebuilt CyberPowerPC back in 2019 with an i5 9400f, GTX 1660 Super, and 8GB of RAM. I've since upgraded to 16GB of RAM and swapped in a Radeon 6750XT, even replacing the power supply to support the new GPU. However, my CPU is maxed out in demanding games like Baldur's Gate 3 and Deadlock, struggling to maintain 50 FPS during team fights, while my GPU is underutilized. I'm debating whether to upgrade my CPU now or wait a bit. If I do upgrade, should I invest in an AM5 socket CPU, or stick with an older socket? I've noticed the Ryzen 5600X is about $150 on eBay, but it seems outdated with limited upgrade options. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

It really depends on your budget. If you had a Micro Center nearby, I'd push for an AMD setup because they often have great deals. Newegg has also been running some decent combo offers lately. Ultimately, your budget will dictate the options.

My budget is around $450, but I can stretch a bit since RAM prices are nuts right now. The nearest Micro Center is 90 minutes away, so what's your recommendation for me?

I just upgraded my whole rig recently. I went with the Asrock B650 Steel Legend for $160 and a Ryzen 5 9600X for about $195. I lucked out on some new Vengeance 32GB RAM for $140. I’d recommend looking into CPU and motherboard combos that give you great performance for the price. From my research, that setup is solid for the cost! I've also picked up a PNY 5070 Ti for $749 at retail, so just keep an eye out for deals.
