I'm building my first PC and I could really use some guidance. I'm using a Mac with dual GPUs for Redshift rendering, which would really benefit from having both graphics cards. I've got a Partpicker link here [PCPartPicker Link](https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Mnnksp). My concern is whether both GPUs will fit properly, as I noticed one connects to an x4 lane, while I thought they shouldn't take up more than 3 slots. Is there a motherboard that supports two x8 lanes? I haven't picked out a case yet either. I'm just trying to ensure everything goes smoothly since this setup is crucial for my work and isn't intended for gaming. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You might want to consider boards that offer more space between the slots, like the ASRock Taichi boards. Just a heads-up, though—they're EATX, so make sure your case can accommodate that!
Hey there! If you're investing over $5k, you might want to double-check your GPU choice. Have you considered getting a single 5090 instead of two 5080s? The 5090 has more RAM bandwidth, and you might find it more efficient since the memory would be shared between the 5080s. Just a thought!
I took a look at your build and made some modifications. Here’s a revised list for you [Modified Part List](https://pcpartpicker.com/list/k3tXNz). It’s tricky because it's best to utilize two x8 lanes for GPUs, but it looks like the motherboard you chose might only allow for an x4 split. Just keep that in mind!
I'm new to this too, but from my research, having two x8 lanes is definitely better. I might just play it safe and go with a 5090, even if it's slower for my needs, just to keep the build simpler.

Yeah, especially since those two 5080s could cost you around $1500 each. A 5090 is the same price and might be a better deal overall.
