I'm looking to upgrade my PC for better streaming and higher FPS in games like CS2, CoD, and Rust. Here are my current specs:
- **CPU**: Ryzen 9 3900X
- **GPU**: Radeon RX 6700 XT
- **RAM**: Corsair Vengeance LPX 32 GB
- **Motherboard**: ASUS Prime B350-Plus (which is super old, and I've been using it for about 8 years)
- **Storage**: 1TB SSD and 500GB internal hard drive
I definitely need a new case and motherboard, but I'm also considering upgrading other parts. I recently upgraded my GPU, RAM, and storage but now I'm feeling like I made a mistake by not switching to DDR5 and AM5 standards for better performance. I aim for a target of 240-300 FPS, and I'm contemplating getting the AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D. However, this would require new RAM, which I just bought. The second-hand price for the new components is around $600, and that's a stretch for me. What do you guys think? Should I go for it, or are there better options?

You’re correct that going for AM5 and DDR5 is a better long-term investment. While it may feel like a lot upfront, it will pay off in performance for streaming and gaming. If your budget is tight, you might want to prioritize the motherboard and CPU upgrade first, then look into RAM afterward.
If you can find a Ryzen 5 5700X3D for a good price, that could be a solid upgrade for high FPS gaming. Just keep in mind that it would also need a new motherboard and RAM, as it’s not compatible with the older setup you have.
