I'm working with an MSI MAG X870 Tomahawk WiFi motherboard, a Montech Century II Gold 1200W power supply, and an XFX Mercury AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT graphics card. The problem is that my PSU only has three PCIe 8-pin connectors and one 12HPWR connector, but my graphics card requires three PCIe 8-pin connectors since it doesn't support the 12V-2x6 type. This setup means I won't have an extra PCIe connector to power my motherboard's supplemental PCIe power connector, which is designed to help distribute power to the PCIe lanes without relying solely on the ATX 24-pin connection.
I'm worried that this might affect the graphics card's power supply and overall performance. I've heard that daisy chaining or using pigtails on PCIe connectors is not advisable, so I'm looking for advice: do I need to upgrade to a higher wattage power supply that offers an additional PCIe power connector, or is it safe to proceed with my current setup?

You can actually use two cables that each have three connectors without any issues. The 9070 XT should work just fine with that setup. Don't sweat it too much!

Got it, thanks! Just to clarify, is using pigtails only a problem with the higher-end cards like a 5090?
