I recently picked up a used PC from Facebook Marketplace for just $50. With Black Friday coming up, I'm looking to upgrade it for 1440p gaming, and possibly some light 4k gaming, all while keeping costs low. Here are the current specs:

- CPU: Ryzen 7 1700
- GPU: GTX 1050ti
- RAM: 16GB DDR4 3200
- Storage: 500GB SSD + 2TB HDD
- Power Supply: EVGA Bronze 600B
- Motherboard: Gigabyte Aorus GA-AX370

I don't have a specific budget in mind, but I want to get the best value for my money. Any suggestions for parts that would help with this upgrade?

You might want to look at the Ryzen 5 5600 or 5500 for a CPU upgrade, as they deliver fantastic performance at a reasonable price. Coupled with a modern GPU, it'll set you up well for 1440p. Just be aware of the prices—do your research before buying!

Is the Ryzen 7 5800X too powerful for my setup? I'm considering it alongside a new GPU.

Upgrading the GPU would be a smart move here, especially if you're aiming for better performance. You might want to consider something like the Radeon RX 6600 XT with 16GB of RAM. It could really boost your gaming experience without breaking the bank.

Yeah, that's a solid choice! Just make sure your power supply can handle it.

If you can squeeze it into your budget, upgrading to 32GB of RAM would be beneficial, especially with 4k gaming in mind. Pairing a powerful GPU like the RX 6700 XT with a faster SSD could provide a noticeable performance increase too!

Great suggestion! But I'm a bit hesitant about overspending for my current gaming needs.
