I'm looking for some guidance on building a budget-friendly PC for about $500, and I'm planning to rely on integrated graphics for now since I can't afford a separate GPU yet. I really want it to be somewhat future-proof, though, so I can add a dedicated graphics card later when my budget allows. What CPU should I choose, and are there any other components I should prioritize?

Honestly, with current RAM and SSD prices, it's tough to achieve a truly "future-proof" build on a $500 budget without a GPU. You can definitely get a basic setup, maybe an entry-level PC with 16GB of RAM, but don’t expect to have much left for other parts after that. Future upgrades might be limited unless prices come down.

Yeah, 16GB should be enough for basic tasks. You can always upgrade later when you can spend more!
