Hey everyone! I've been gaming on my PS4 for nearly a decade, but it's starting to show its age, especially with support likely ending around mid-2026. I'm looking to build a PC and would love some advice on how much money I should budget for a decent, upgradable setup. I'm hoping to keep costs around $800 to $1200. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks a lot!

You can definitely put together a solid PC within the $800 to $1000 range that will perform well now and can be upgraded later on. Just make sure to choose components wisely, focusing on those that will last you.

Check out this build I put together: [Link to build]. It should easily handle most games at 1080p ultra or 1440p high/ultra settings. It includes 16GB of RAM, which is perfect for gaming, and a 1TB Gen 4 NVME SSD for speedy storage. Also, look for deals at places like Micro Center; you might save some cash on CPU and GPU bundles!

Will definitely take a look, thanks!

This looks really promising! Can't wait to check it out!

Do you live near a Micro Center? They often have great deals that could help you stick to your budget.

Unfortunately, I don't live near one! But thanks for the suggestion!

You might want to check this deal out, it's hard to beat for under $1200: [Link to gaming PC].

Have you thought about just getting a PS5? It’s a fantastic value right now with its 32GB of DDR5 RAM. Plus, you’d keep access to all your PS4 games. Just saying, it might save you some hassle!

That's a fair point, but I've wanted to build a PC for a while. It seems like a more future-proof option, especially with rumors of a PS6 coming soon!

Just a heads up, it's a tricky time to build a PC because RAM prices are quite high. If you're sticking to your budget, I suggest looking into an AM4 DDR4 setup. There are lots of good options available for solid 1080p gaming.

Haha, my PS4 has gotten so loud, it’s like it's begging me to switch! But I'll definitely consider your advice.
