Advice on Upgrading My GPU and CPU

I'm planning to upgrade my CPU and GPU, but I'm not really sure where to start since this is my first PC that I bought from a friend. Right now, I have a 12GB Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 with an AMD Ryzen 5 5600X. I currently use an ASUS monitor that has a refresh rate of 165Hz at 1920x1080, which I like, but I would love to switch to a 1440p monitor in the future. I'm also uncertain about my budget because I don't know what's considered overkill and what's essential. If you need more information, just let me know!

What games do you usually play? And are you open to purchasing used hardware? Also, if you could check the wattage of your power supply, that info would help a lot!

Sure! My power supply has an output of 750W, and I have a B550 Phantom Gaming 4 motherboard. I mainly enjoy open-world games like Elden Ring and Cyberpunk, as well as shooters like Battlefield 1 and Space Marine 2.

Thanks for the info! That helps a lot!

With a $1000 budget for upgrades, that's totally doable! I recommend looking for a solid motherboard and RAM that are compatible with your Ryzen processor. What specific features are you looking for in a motherboard?
