AIO vs Case Fans for Better CPU Cooling

Hey everyone! I built a new PC last fall, and I'm facing an overheating issue with my CPU. Here are my specs: I'm using an MSI MPG GUNGNIR 110R case with three stock front fans for intake and one rear fan for exhaust. My CPU is an i7-13700kf running with a Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 EVO cooler, and I'm pairing it with a 4080Super GPU.

I've noticed that my CPU runs quite hot, which is common for the 13th gen, but HWInfo shows some thermal throttling, indicating that my performance in games is being limited by the CPU, as the GPU isn't maxing out.

I'm considering installing a 360mm AIO cooler, but the only mounting option I have is the front of the case. Should I replace the front fans with the AIO fans, or would it be better to go for a 240mm AIO on the top while keeping the front fans?

Have you tried reapplying the thermal paste and remounting your cooler? It sounds like a cooler seating issue could be the problem. Make sure the front fans are set to intake and the rear is set to exhaust. Did you remove any protective plastic from the cooler before installation?

Yeah, I did remove the plastic and checked the thermal paste spacing. I have the front set to intake and the rear as exhaust, but the CPU still runs hot.

Front mounting your AIO is totally fine, and those AIO fans can work as case fans too. However, if you want to keep your current airflow, you might consider sticking with a 240mm AIO on top instead.
