I recently damaged my HP Pavilion Plus 14-EW0009NL laptop screen and took it to a repair center for a quote. They are charging me a 50€ service fee, but the replacement screen (14" ATNA40CU03-002 2.8K OLED LCD) costs 380€. I've seen the same screen available online for about 150€, so I'm unsure whether I can trust their pricing. What do you all think?

I’d estimate $120 for labor. Usually, the low service fee is just to diagnose the issue. If they quote you such a high price for the screen, they might be overcharging you or hiding costs in the screen price. You could ask them how much it would cost if you brought in the replacement screen yourself.
It really depends on the repair shop. It’s a good idea to check out their reviews. This isn't the best place to gauge service pricing, though.
Thanks!
A quick look shows replacement screens for around $200, so $380 is definitely a hefty markup, especially since this exact model probably only comes from one supplier.
Thanks, that’s exactly what I thought…
You could consider sourcing the replacement screen yourself and just pay for labor to install it, as changing a laptop screen isn't super complicated. There are plenty of tutorials online that can guide you through the process! If you go this route, just be aware that some repair shops won't install parts you provide.
Thanks! I'll probably try it this way.
Many places will refuse to use parts the customer sourced, or won’t provide a warranty since they can’t verify the quality of the part.

Thanks! They actually do the quotation free of charge, so I think it might be as you say, they add the actual service fee to the screen cost and state it lower.
