I'm running an Intel i7-7700 CPU paired with an RX 580 GPU that has 8GB of VRAM, along with 16GB of DDR4 RAM. I'm trying to figure out if I'm hitting a performance bottleneck in my setup. Does anyone have insights on how to determine if my CPU is limiting my GPU or vice versa?

It really depends on what you’re doing! In some games, the CPU might hold you back, while in others, the GPU could be the limiting factor. Remember, there’s always something that will bottleneck your system, even with higher-end parts.

You can check if your GPU is maxing out. If it's not hitting 100% usage, the CPU is the limiting factor. On the other hand, if your GPU is running at full capacity, then everything's good on that side. If you’re looking for a performance boost and budget allows, consider upgrading your GPU, but keep in mind you'll likely need to upgrade your CPU as well.

Yes, there’s a bottleneck somewhere in your setup. With any computer, something will limit performance. The key is figuring out what it is for your specific needs.

You definitely don't have DDR5 RAM; your setup is DDR4. Also, just to clarify, the i7-7700 can't use DDR5 RAM. People sometimes mix up models, but you're set with DDR4 here.
