Am I Facing a CPU Bottleneck After Upgrading My GPU?

Hey everyone! I recently upgraded my power supply and graphics card, and I'm wondering if I'm hitting a CPU bottleneck. Here are my current specs:

- Motherboard: Asus Prime B450M-A
- CPU: Ryzen 5 3600
- GPU: RTX 5070 (upgraded from 5700xt)
- PSU: MSI MAG A850GL PCIE5 850W
- RAM: 16GB
- OS: Windows 11

I've been testing some games lately and noticed that Cyberpunk 2077 consistently runs between 50-60 FPS, regardless of the resolution or settings I tweak, including DLSS.

I also tried playing Sons of the Forest, which runs in the same FPS range even at 4K and 1080p. On the other hand, Ghost of Tsushima shows a decent boost, getting around 100 FPS (though I can't tweak settings much due to some driver issues).

I've been monitoring my CPU temps and usage. In Cyberpunk, my CPU usage shoots up, but in Sons of the Forest, it's only around 50%.

So, do you think I'm dealing with a CPU bottleneck? I'm considering upgrading to either a Ryzen 5700X or a Ryzen 5700X3D since I'm on an AM4 motherboard. Would love to hear your thoughts or any other suggestions before I make a decision. Thanks!

It looks like you're hitting a CPU bottleneck for sure. Upgrading to the 5700X3D is a smart move; it should give you plenty of performance for a few years unless you're considering a full switch to AM5.

Do you think switching to AM5 is worthwhile right now, or would the 5700X3D serve me well for 1440p gaming in the long run?
