Hey everyone! I bought a decent PC about three years ago, and I'm curious if it's still good enough to handle an RTX 5080 graphics card. I've never done any installations myself, so I'd really appreciate your guidance.

Here's my setup:
- Processor: 13th Gen Intel Core i7-13700KF (3.40 GHz)
- RAM: 32GB
- Motherboard: ASUS TUF GAMING B660-Plus Wifi D4
- Current Graphics Card: Geforce GTX 4070
- Cooling: 3 fans at the front, 1 at the back, and 2 at the top, plus water cooling.

Let me know if you need more details, and sorry if I seem a bit lost—I'm still learning! 😀

Just a heads up, it's actually called the RTX 5080, not GTX! But if you want to upgrade, go for it! Your current CPU should still work just fine with it.

Thanks for the clarification on the RTX! Not sure why I mixed it up, haha.

Your CPU is still pretty high-end! The rest of your setup looks good too. If the 5080 is only necessary for 4K gaming or if you're facing issues with current games, then maybe think about it. Otherwise, your GTX 4070 does a decent job right now.

As long as your GPU fits in the case and your power supply unit (PSU) is strong enough, you should be good to go! Just double-check that it can handle the RX 5080 since it pulls a fair amount of power—350W stock, I believe—so an 850W PSU would be ideal!

I need to check my PSU. Pretty sure I have a 750W one. Does that change things?

You might want to hold off. You have a solid GPU already! The next tier down, the 5070 Ti, could give you a great performance boost without the hit to your wallet. Plus, Nvidia might roll out some new ‘Super’ versions with more VRAM soon, so it could be worth waiting for that—might even see some price drops if AMD's new cards shake things up!

Before you decide on the upgrade, ask yourself if you really need it. Unless you're hitting performance bottlenecks, your current setup is capable. Going from a 1440p to a 4K monitor is a good reason to consider the upgrade, though.
