Hey everyone, I had a pretty alarming experience yesterday. I was hunting for a specific PDF called Codex Space Marines 7th Edition and ended up finding a sketchy link on Google Drive. I know I shouldn't have, but I downloaded it and opened the file. Almost immediately, Windows Defender warned me about a potential trojan, which I quickly got rid of. To be safe, I also ran Malwarebytes. Later that night, I checked my Gmail spam and found a bunch of password and email reset attempts for my accounts and some of my family's, including Ubisoft, Microsoft, Instagram, Battle.net, and both my Steam accounts. I spent the night changing passwords, creating a new email, and enabling 2FA where I could. I managed to secure everything except my Microsoft account. Now I'm really paranoid and just want to know if I did enough to protect myself or if I'm still at risk of getting hacked again. What else should I do?

Honestly, it’s kinda wild that you downloaded it after calling it a scam. But it sounds like you took a lot of the right steps after the fact! You've removed the potential malware and scanned your system, which is great. The chances of getting hacked by that same program again are low, but as always, be cautious with what you download in the future. Just keep an eye on your accounts and consider using a password manager to help keep track of everything securely. Better safe than sorry!
Yeah, you did a lot already! Just remember to stay vigilant and don't ignore those alerts next time.
