Hey everyone! I'm in the process of building a new PC that's going to be used for both gaming and work tasks. I already have most of the components sorted out, but I'm stuck on picking the right CPU and motherboard. I've decided to use DDR5 memory and I also have an RTX 4070 graphics card. The dilemma is whether to go with an AMD Ryzen processor or an Intel one. I've heard some mixed reviews about Intel, like issues with overheating and generally higher prices for similar performance. Any suggestions or advice would really help me out!

Just curious, what do you mean by "work"? Are you doing anything specific that might affect your choice?
Most folks agree that AMD is the better choice for almost everything nowadays. If you're looking for pure performance, especially with gaming, the Ryzen series has been a strong contender. The only reason to go with an Intel Core Ultra would be if you’re just really loyal to Intel for some reason.
What’s your budget looking like? For gaming, AMD tends to provide better longevity and efficiency. If you’re also using it for work, it’d be good to check benchmarks of the software you plan to use. If it's just basic tasks like Office, you won't go wrong with either brand. For serious gaming, I’d recommend the Ryzen 7000 or 9000 series, and if you've got a bigger budget, the R9s are a solid all-around pick.
Any specific AMD CPU you recommend for pairing with a 4070?
