Any recommendations for a free inventory or asset management system?

I'm currently using Lansweeper and really love it, but unfortunately, there's no budget available at the moment for it. I'm looking for a free inventory or asset management solution that's easy to set up. I expect to get Lansweeper back by mid-2026, but I need something in place in the meantime. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

If you're managing around 15,000 items, I'm surprised you don't have a budget for an asset tracking system! For free options, SnipeIT is probably your best bet. Also, if your helpdesk platform has an asset tracking feature, that could be useful too. We do that to connect tickets to assets for better tracking.

You should definitely check out SnipeIT. We just implemented it in our organization, and it’s been amazing for asset tracking!

Thanks for the tip!

I don't get why people recommend SnipeIT over Lansweeper; they really serve different needs.

How many devices are you planning to track and what kind of inventory details do you need? That might affect your options.

I'm looking to track around 15,000 devices, including workplace Windows machines, switches, firewalls, and WLAN.
