Hey everyone! I'm finally upgrading from my almost 10-year-old gaming laptop and am eager to build my very first PC. I would really appreciate any advice or suggestions to improve my build. Here's my current part list on PCPartPicker:

- **CPU:** AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D 4.7 GHz 8-Core
- **CPU Cooler:** Corsair NAUTILUS 360 RS ARGB Liquid Cooler
- **Motherboard:** ASRock B850M Steel Legend WiFi Micro ATX
- **Memory:** TEAMGROUP T-Force Delta RGB 64 GB DDR5-6000 CL38
- **Storage:** 2x Samsung 990 Pro 4 TB NVMe SSD
- **Storage:** Western Digital WD Red Pro 20 TB Hard Drive
- **Video Card:** MSI GAMING TRIO OC GeForce RTX 5070 Ti 16 GB
- **Case:** Thermaltake The Tower 300 Bubble Pink
- **Power Supply:** MSI MAG A850GL 850W Gold Certified
- **Monitor:** Asus TUF Gaming VG27AQ3A 27" 2560 x 1440 180Hz

The total cost is over $5600 AUD. Any obvious issues or suggestions for changes?

First off, I've heard some negative things about the ASRock motherboard, especially concerning compatibility and burning CPUs. You might want to look at different brands. Also, your RAM speed is a bit on the slower side; aiming for CL30 is advisable. And honestly, 8TB of NVMe and an extra 20TB hard drive seems excessive unless you have a specific reason for all that storage. Maybe cut down a bit?

Thanks for the tips! What motherboard brands would you recommend instead? And is there anything else about my build that seems off?

Concerning the storage, I'm a data hoarder like you and get the need for space, but you could save some cash by going for 10TB instead.

Let’s talk about that RAM. I’d say go for CL30 if you can. Also, with such a huge amount of memory (28TB), you might want to consider scaling it down a bit—like doing 10TB max. You can still keep a powerful GPU, maybe look at the 9070XT if you can save on storage. It’ll give you great performance without breaking the bank.

Honestly, a lot of people are telling me to reconsider the amount of storage I'm going for. My plan was to future-proof my PC, you know? But what do you think about the necessity of having such a powerful AIO cooler? Is that overkill for a first build?
