Anyone else struggling to focus with too many tabs open?

I've found myself overwhelmed at work with 47 tabs open and zero tasks completed by the end of the day. I'm juggling a Jira tab for tickets, constant Slack notifications, a barrage of error messages in Vscode, a Notion doc I swear I'll read later, and multiple AI tools like Copilot and Blackbox. It's draining! How do you manage your focus and tackle this constant switching between contexts? Do you have any strategies to cope with the chaos?

Sounds like classic burnout to me! But 47 tabs? I usually hover around 200 myself, haha! I try to organize my tabs into separate windows based on projects. It helps me focus on what I need without getting distracted by unrelated stuff. Also, about those 200 errors in Vscode—it's time to start coding in smaller bits that compile correctly, keep your git commits tidy, and disable notifications if they're causing chaos. Good luck!

This just feels like a programming life crisis. Are we seriously seeking advice on focus instead of tackling coding problems? Let’s get back to coding, folks!

Nothing should be so urgent it can't wait an hour or two. Silence unnecessary notifications and only keep tabs that are vital to your coding. Consider using timer sessions—work for 25 to 60 minutes and take breaks in between. If your boss pushes back, just explain you need time to concentrate effectively!
