Are ASRock Motherboards Safe for the 7800X3D?

I'm currently building my first gaming PC and have settled on using a 7800X3D processor. However, I'm concerned about the reliability of ASRock motherboards. I've done some reading and it seems like there have been issues with them in the past. If I choose ASRock for my build, will I need to replace the motherboard if I decide to upgrade my CPU down the line?

If you're only saving around $20 by choosing ASRock, I think it's better to go with a more reputable brand. Safety comes first with your components!

Honestly, ASRock's reputation has taken a hit recently. I've had good experiences with TUF and MSI motherboards, so I would probably lean towards those brands instead.

Yeah, I had the MSI X670E Edge WiFi too, which was great. I just replaced it with the B850 Tomahawk WiFi Max, and I'm pretty happy with the color matching for my build!

I feel like ASRock could have been better off recalling their boards instead of just patching things up. The long-term damage to their reputation may never heal.

While they did release a BIOS update for some boards, I wouldn't personally take the risk with ASRock. Better safe than sorry, right?

There’s no definitive answer about their boards anymore. It all comes down to whether you believe ASRock has solved their issues. Many people aren't willing to take that leap of faith, considering how things have been.

You're right; they might know something we don’t. The lack of transparency makes it hard for people to trust them. I initially wanted an ASRock Taichi, but I've since switched to another brand.

Totally agree! The fact that they claimed to fix things but didn't just adds to my doubt about their integrity.

I've had a rough experience with ASRock, as they fried my 7800X3D. I'd avoid them if possible. Painful lesson learned.

Yikes! What board were you using?

Wow, I hadn't heard that they were causing issues with those processors too. Sorry to hear about your experience!
