I've been having a really hard time with my ASUS VivoBook running Windows 11. For over 30 minutes, I struggled just to get basic tasks done like opening my browser. Sometimes it works fine after a frustrating wait, but most times, it's incredibly sluggish. I've checked for malware, ensured nothing unnecessary is starting up, and I regularly defrag the drive. Despite this, it's still painfully slow! Is it possible that mid-range laptops just can't handle modern operating systems anymore? Here are my specs for reference: Intel Core i5-1035G1 CPU @ 1.00 GHz, 12 GB RAM, and I have 709 GB free on my 929 GB C drive, but I'm using a Toshiba MQ04ABF100 hard drive. Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

It sounds like you're stuck on an old mechanical HDD instead of a faster SSD. That's likely where your performance issues are coming from. Switching to an SSD can be a game changer for speed.
I didn't realize that had such a big impact! I feel like I'm a bit behind on tech, stuck in the Windows XP era.
