Are My 7800X3D Temperatures Normal After a Stress Test?

I recently built a PC featuring the 7800X3D along with a Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE cooler. After running the Cinebench R24 test, I noticed my CPU temperatures and I'm wondering if they're considered normal. My CPU max clock speed was between 4800-5000 MHz during the test, with an average of about 4750 MHz. The fan profile is set to standard. Here's a link to my temperature readout: https://imgur.com/a/LLDdD01.

Yeah, that's definitely in the normal range. Stress tests really push the CPU to its limits, and these chips are built to handle temps below 95°C without issue. You're in the clear!

So if the max temp is 89°C, does that mean it won't throttle until it reaches 95°C? Just trying to get my head around this. Thanks!

Good point! It can be confusing, but basically, the CPUs can handle some buffer before they throttle.

Play some games and monitor your temps then! Real-world usage is what matters for that CPU, stress tests are just extreme scenarios. Since yours didn’t hit that thermal cap of 95°C, you’re good!

I’m so relieved to hear this! Thanks everyone for the reassurance!

Normal for sure! My Dark Rock 4 cooler gave me similar temps before I did some undervolting and added extra case fans. It's all about what you're comfortable with!

Should I look into undervolting for lower temps? What kind of drop can I expect?

Those temps look pretty normal! Just remember, the 7800X3D is designed to thermal throttle around 89°C, so no worries there.
