I built my own PC a few years back, and I'm feeling a bit unsure about whether all my parts are working well together. I followed some advice from a friend who's built PCs before and did some research on compatibility. But now that I'm watching more PC building videos, I'm realizing there might be more considerations I should have thought about when selecting my components. Here's what I have:

- NZXT H510 - Compact ATX Mid-Tower
- ASRock B450 Steel Legend AM4 Motherboard
- Ryzen 9 5900X Processor
- CORSAIR Vengeance RGB Pro 64GB (4 x 16GB) RAM
- XFX Speedster SWFT309 AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT GPU
- Seagate FireCuda 510 2TB SSD
- Cooler Master MasterLiquid ML240L RGB Cooler
- CORSAIR CX Series CX550 550W Power Supply
- Seagate BarraCuda 2TB HDD

I'm definitely open to any suggestions on changes that could help enhance my system's performance.

You might run into issues with random shutdowns under heavy GPU loads due to that power supply. The rest of your setup looks good! Just ensure you enable EXPO for your RAM to utilize its full potential. If any issues arise, a CMOS reset could help tune that RAM speed better.

Can you recommend a good power supply to upgrade to?

It sounds like you might have over-spec'd your RAM and CPU for a typical gaming setup. If everything's running smoothly, though, you shouldn't worry too much. If you're considering future upgrades, make sure you also check on that power supply.

I mostly play Minecraft with a bunch of mods and shaders. What kind of power supply would you suggest for an upgrade?

Your PSU is a bit on the lower side. While the rest of your build looks solid, keep in mind if you're not into all the RGB stuff, you could save some cash. Also, the motherboard isn't the most advanced option, but it shouldn't cause major issues. 64GB of RAM is fantastic for multitasking, though!

What exactly does it mean for the motherboard to be low-end?

Answered By AirflowDude On

If your case lacks front ventilation, that could lead to overheating issues. I had a similar case as my first build and ended up swapping it for one with better airflow. Make sure to check for vents in that front panel!

You could see a significant performance boost with a few upgrades! For example, consider switching to an Intel i5-14600KF, as it's generally better for gaming compared to the Ryzen 9 5900X. High-end air coolers typically outperform all-in-one liquid coolers, so that could save you some money too. Also, if you're not utilizing all that RAM, going for 32GB would be more than enough for most gaming needs.
