Are My Ryzen 7 9850X3D Temperatures Normal During Gaming?

Hey everyone, I'm building my first PC and want to make sure everything is functioning properly. Here are my specs: I'm using an AMD Ryzen 7 9850X3D with an ASUS TUF Gaming B850-E WiFi motherboard, an MSI GeForce RTX 5070 Ti 16GB Shadow 3X OC GPU, and Corsair Vengeance 32GB of DDR5 RAM. I've got an MSI Spatium M480 Pro 1TB NVMe M.2 SSD, a 1ST Player X Starship 360mm ARGB AIO cooler, and a 1ST Player RT7 850W 80+ Gold PSU. I'm running EXPO and haven't manually overclocked anything yet. I have Precision Boost Overdrive set to default and the pump and fans on a standard profile. While gaming, I've noticed the CPU package temperature ranging between 75 to 80°C, peaking at 81°C once, with the CPU temp around 60 to 65°C. I haven't experienced any thermal throttling, and everything seems stable with no crashes. I've heard that X3D CPUs can run a bit warmer due to their 3D V-Cache. Are these temps normal for my setup, and should I consider adjusting the pump and fan curves? Thanks a lot—still learning!

Your temps are looking good for that CPU during gaming. Ryzen chips, especially the X3D models, are designed to run hot, and as long as you're stable and not throttling, you're in good shape. I wouldn't stress too much about the temps unless you start getting thermal throttling or instability. If you're comfortable with those thermal readings, I'd say keep the fan curves as they are for now.

Thanks for the reassurance! Since my clocks are stable under load, I think I'll leave the settings as they are for now.

It's completely normal for those Ryzen CPUs to boost and maintain higher temps. They have this self-regulating feature where they boost up to a certain temperature before throttling. Given that you're hitting peak boost speeds and seeing no throttling, you might not need to adjust the fan curves just to shave off a couple of degrees. Everything seems healthy for long-term use!

That definitely makes me feel better! So as long as nothing's overheating, I should just let it ride as is?
