Are Self-Tapping Screws Common for PC Fans?

I'm having a tough time trying to install some NZXT fans because they use self-tapping screws, and it feels like I might break the plastic frame when I try to get enough torque. Is this something specific to NZXT fans, or are self-tapping screws just standard for PC fans in general? Honestly, I never want to deal with this again; it's the most frustrating part of my PC build.

Yep, using 7/32 self-tapping screws is pretty common for PC fans. Most fans are designed this way, so it's not just an NZXT issue. Just a heads up, if you find this method frustrating, there are alternatives you could explore!

Totally normal! If you want to avoid this hassle in the future, consider buying your own screws and nuts. Fans usually have a width of 25mm, making it easy to find suitable alternatives. Tool-less rubber mounting options are also available!

I'm sticking with the self-tapping screws this time, but I'll definitely check those out for my next build. Thanks for the info!
