Are There Plans for AMD to Release AM4 X3D Processors Again?

I've recently upgraded from an old Ryzen 5 6600 to a new 9070 GPU, but I'm noticing that my Ryzen 5 3600 CPU isn't fully utilizing the potential of this new card. I was considering buying a Ryzen 7 5700X, but then I came across an article suggesting that AMD might release older Zen 3 chips again due to skyrocketing RAM prices. Should I wait and hope for the X3D chips to make a comeback, or would it be wiser to just purchase the 5700X before CPU prices rise too?

I doubt they'll bring out any X3D chips again, but I could see a new version of AM5 that works with DDR4 RAM being a possibility. Though, technically, it could be tricky due to the differences in socket designs.

What resolution are you gaming at, and what games are you playing? Sure, the X3D would be a sweet addition, but honestly, upgrading to a 5xxx series like the 5700X should boost your FPS significantly. Even if X3D comes back, I doubt it would be cheap since production costs have probably gone up.

Honestly, it would make little sense for AMD to rework the AM4 line. They're better off focusing on making AM5 more appealing with lower prices. Improving AM5 could benefit both new customers and those of us still using AM4.

From what I've read, they're just rumors. If they do end up releasing any X3D models, I think the prices will be pretty high. I'd recommend going for the 5700X since it's a significant upgrade from the 3600.

Exactly! The 5700X gives you solid performance without breaking the bank. Sure, X3D would be better for gaming, but they've been out-of-production for a while, making them hard to get.

Unlikely! They might start pushing out some lower-end 6-8 core AM4 chips to fill the entry market instead. If you're looking for deals, keep an eye out for used 5700X3D chips if you can find them around 250-260 euros, or just stick with a 5700X or 5800 for a solid performance bump.

No one has any solid info yet; it's all rumors at this point. But hey, anyone with a B450 motherboard like myself is definitely hoping for a re-release, especially for a 5900X3D. If that happens, I’d grab it in a heartbeat!

Same here! My B450 Tomahawk died after a BIOS update, and now I'm stuck. I can afford a new build, but I've been so frustrated. I just wanted my old setup to last a bit longer.

Honestly, the 5900X3D might be priced around 350-400 euros, but it could be worth it for a final upgrade. I just got my 5700X for Christmas to pair with the 9070XT, and it's doing great!
