Are there still driver issues with the 5070 graphics card?

A friend of mine is looking to replace his dead GPU and is considering the 5070 Shadow 2X OC. However, we're curious if there are still any lingering black screen or crashing issues with this card. He's not aiming for ultra-high game settings, but I suggested he might be better off with the 9070 XT since it's a stronger option, though it does come at a higher price. Do you think the 5070 will work fine for him, or should he look for something different?

In my experience, the 5070 and 5090 are doing just fine if you've replaced any old DP cables, but overall, results can vary.

I've had my 5070 for nearly two months now and haven't faced any issues at all—it's been running smoothly for me!

That's great to hear! Can you share your build? I'm curious about what else you're using.

New generation GPUs usually have some driver hiccups at first, whether it's AMD or Nvidia. They typically get patched up over time. If the price is right, I think going for the 5070 is still a solid choice.

I got my 5080 this month, and it's also been flawless. Seems like some users might just be unlucky.

From what I've seen, all NVIDIA cards running the latest 57X drivers are still having issues. So that's something to keep in mind when considering the 5070.

The 5.76 version is what causing most of the trouble, while 5.72 seems to be working fine.

My 5070 did give me a black screen once during a driver installation, but after a quick reboot, it was all good! So, I'd say don't worry too much.

Thanks for sharing that! It makes me feel much better about my order for the 5070.

From what I've read, the current drivers should be stable enough now. If the 9070 XT is too pricey, the regular 9070 could also be a good alternative to consider for a few bucks less, depending on the budget.

Yeah, I was thinking the regular 9070 could also work as a solid option!

I bought my 5070 just two weeks ago and it’s been perfect; no problems at all!
