Are These Desktop PC Parts Good for Casual Gaming and Coding?

Hey everyone! I'm gearing up to build a new desktop PC after sticking with an old laptop for the past five years. I'm just a casual gamer, so I don't care about playing the latest titles in 4K or at super high settings; I mainly want stable FPS. Aside from gaming, I will also be using this PC for coding, but I won't be streaming or editing videos.

I've put together a list of components I'm considering along with some prices from the Greek market:

- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 7600 - 169 Euro
- GPU: Radeon RX 7600 - 288 Euro
- Motherboard: ASUS TUF GAMING B650-PLUS WIFI - 183 Euro
- RAM: G.Skill Desktop RAM Trident Z5 RGB 32GB - 399 Euro
- Storage: Lexar NQ790 SSD 2TB M.2 NVMe PCI Express 4.0 - 254 Euro (Alternative: Kingston NV3 2TB NVMe SSD - 212 Euro)
- Storage: Western Digital Blue 1TB HDD 3.5" SATA III 7200rpm - 65 Euro
- PSU: Corsair RM750x 750 W 80+ Gold Modular - 149 Euro (Alternative: Thermaltake Toughpower GT 750W - 83 Euro)
- Case: NZXT H6 Flow - 106 Euro (Alternative: Fractal Design Focus G Midi Tower - 66 Euro)
- CPU Cooler: Arctic Freezer 36 - 26 Euro

My budget is around 1600 Euro.

Initially, I was leaning towards buying a 4TB SSD—using 2TB for daily work and reserving 2TB for backups. However, I'm starting to think that a 2TB SSD for regular use and a 1TB HDD for backups could be a smarter decision. What's your take on HDDs as backup options?

Just to give you an idea, I'm planning to play games like WoW, Red Dead Redemption 2, Baldur's Gate 3, and Assetto Corsa. Thanks for any help!

I agree with the previous comment! While your setup is decent, maybe look at getting a slightly cheaper motherboard—it's a bit much for the Ryzen 7600. Also, consider that the HDD could be a good backup solution, but make sure your SSD has DRAM cache for better performance. If you're open to it, check out used parts as they might save you some cash!

Hey! Your build looks solid for casual gaming and coding. For casual gaming, the Ryzen 5 7600 is a good choice, but if you can, consider going for a more powerful GPU like the 9060XT or 5060; it could improve your gaming experience. The motherboard and RAM are good choices, but you could possibly find cheaper alternatives without sacrificing much quality. Also, I found that the Kingston SSD is a great value option!
Regarding your backup question, HDDs are really fine for backups, and they don’t fail suddenly as SSDs do. Just avoid installing games on them—stick to documents and photos instead.

Looks like you’re investing heavily in RAM and the motherboard, which is fine, but maybe you could save a bit there to invest in a better GPU. The Radeon RX 7600 isn’t terrible, but a 16GB option like the 9060XT would perform significantly better for your gaming purposes. Also, 2TB SSD for regular use and a HDD for backups sounds good! You can also explore some options for cheaper SSDs without compromising too much on quality.
