My younger brother is putting together his first gaming PC, and I'd like a second opinion on the parts before he buys everything. The planned build is an AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, MSI MAG B850 Tomahawk motherboard, Radeon RX 9070 XT 16GB OC graphics card, 32GB of Kingston Fury Beast DDR5-6000 memory, an ARCTIC Liquid Freezer III Pro 360 A-RGB cooler, a 2TB Lexar NM1090 Pro M.2 SSD, and an MSI MPG A1000G PCIe 5 power supply, all inside a Thermaltake View 600 Snow case. The parts are at the maximum of his budget, so are there any compatibility concerns or areas where money could be saved without hurting gaming performance?

The build should work, but the SSD and 1000W power supply seem like the easiest places to cut costs. A good 850W unit is plenty for this graphics card, and a quality PCIe 4.0 2TB SSD should feel just as fast for gaming while costing less.
Check the memory’s CAS latency before ordering. DDR5-6000 is a good target for this platform, but CL30 or CL32 would be preferable. Also compare the prices and reviews of the different RX 9070 XT models, since some cooler and noise designs are better than others.
You could consider using the savings from the oversized power supply and premium SSD toward a faster gaming CPU, such as the Ryzen 7 9800X3D, but only if the price difference is fairly small. Otherwise, the 7800X3D is already a strong choice. A reputable 850W or 1050W A-tier supply and a high-end PCIe 4.0 SSD with DRAM would be a more balanced combination.
