I'm looking to build a PC and I have the following components: a B450M Pro VDH motherboard, a Ryzen 5 5500 processor, three 8GB Crucial 3200 RAM sticks, an Xigmatek Master X II case, a 600W Xigmatek X-Power 80 Plus power supply, and a PNY RTX 5060 8GB ARGB EPIC-X RGB OC graphics card. Can anyone confirm if these parts will work together?

Just a heads-up! Your motherboard might need a firmware update for everything to run smoothly, so it’s good to confirm that the latest BIOS is installed before you buy it. Also, your GPU is PCIe 5 while the motherboard is on PCIe 3, so that might limit its performance in some heavy tasks. If you’re focusing on demanding applications, you could look into older cards like the RTX 4xxx or RX 7xxx series that have at least 12GB of VRAM to prevent bandwidth issues.

I’m planning on upgrading the motherboard and CPU anyway. I currently have an RTX 2060 6GB and just wanted to upgrade the GPU for now. Will it cause problems using this new GPU until I get the other parts sorted?

Yeah, all your components should be compatible! Just to be safe, you might want to check out PCPartPicker to double-check everything. You're mostly just matching AM4 parts, which sounds good. The specific models usually don't matter as long as the sockets match up.

I heard someone say the GPU might not perform well with this setup and that I’d need to upgrade the motherboard and CPU.
