AWS Certification Exam Restrictions: Need Your Advice!

Hey folks! I'm reaching out to see if anyone else has dealt with AWS certification exam restrictions. Back in 2024, I got a notice from AWS saying I was barred from taking online exams after an incident where my dad accidentally walked into my room during a test. I quickly told him I was in the middle of an exam, but that was flagged as a violation, which means I can only take exams in-person at Pearson VUE test centers now.

Then, not too long ago, I accidentally scheduled and took the SAA-C03 exam online without realizing my restriction was still in place. I felt good about the exam, but my results ended up invalidated because of this. I've reached out to AWS support to explain everything and ask for a review of my online exam eligibility.

I'm wondering:
- Has anyone successfully gotten back online exam access after a similar restriction?
- Is there a formal process to request a review after some time?
- Would creating a new AWS account count as a policy violation?

I'm really frustrated, especially after putting in so much prep for the test. Any tips or shared experiences would help a lot! Thanks!

Honestly, this sounds tough, but you need to take future exams at a testing center since that's the requirement now. Trying to go around it could cause you more trouble in the long run. Just focus on that for the next one.

I get that this is frustrating, but you might feel more at ease knowing you're following the guidelines. Just hit the testing center next time!

Creating a new account to bypass the restrictions is definitely a bad idea and could lead to further penalties. You should focus on retaking the test in person instead. Hope it goes better next time!

Some people in the comments seem a bit harsh. Everyone makes mistakes, and not all of us live close to testing centers. If that's the case for you, maybe mention that to AWS when you reach out. Good luck!

I appreciate the support! I’ll definitely mention my circumstances to AWS.

Hey, I'm sorry to hear about your situation! If you haven’t already, I suggest reaching out to AWS support and providing them with your case ID directly. They might be able to assist you better that way.

Thanks for the advice! I’ll definitely reach out with my case ID.

I feel for you, but it might be best to just take your exams in person from now on. Cheating the system often backfires, and you don’t want your certifications getting invalidated later.
