Hey everyone! I'm looking to upgrade my storage and am considering replacing my current Samsung 980 EVO 500GB M.2 SSD with a 1TB M.2 SSD. Since my MSI B450 Tomahawk motherboard only has one M.2 slot, I plan to use the Samsung drive through a PCIe 2.0 x4 adapter. The problem is deciding which SSD to buy, as there are so many options out there with mixed reviews. I was thinking about sticking with another 1TB Samsung 980 EVO, but some folks mentioned it might be overkill for gaming. My budget is around $100 to $120. Right now, I'm considering the Teamgroup MP44, Patriot P400, and WD Black SN850X since they seem affordable and have decent reviews. What do you all recommend for my gaming needs?

All the options you mentioned are solid. The SN850X does come with a DRAM cache, which isn't really a must for gaming though. I'd suggest just going with what fits your budget best.
What about the ADATA Legend 860, Legend 710, XPG Gammix S60 Blade, and KingSpec NX? They have good reviews and are pretty inexpensive. Should I be worried about the low price, or is that common?
