I'm building a new PC and I've chosen the AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D as my CPU. I'm looking for recommendations for air coolers that are priced under $100, but I'm open to suggestions for pricier options if they're worth it. There are so many choices out there, and I've heard good things about brands like Thermalright, ARCTIC, and ID-COOLING. Specifically, I'm considering models like the Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120, ARCTIC Freezer 36, and ID-COOLING FROZN A720. However, I'm a bit confused since Thermalright and ID-COOLING have many similar options in the same price range. Are there any other coolers from these brands that you would recommend over the ones I've listed?

Any dual tower air cooler should handle the 9800X3D just fine. They all seem to perform similarly, so I suggest just picking the cheapest one you find.
I’d say go for the Phantom Spirit 120 instead of the Peerless Assassin 120. It’s the newer model and has similar performance, although the difference isn’t too significant.
If you're considering the Freezer 36, it might run a bit hotter, especially compared to others, as it performs better with Intel CPUs. The FROZN A720 is a strong choice but check that your motherboard can accommodate it. I found that the Peerless Assassin 120 edges it out slightly. The Phantom Spirit 120 is also a contender and sits right behind the much pricier NH-D15.
I've got the Peerless Assassin 120, and it's been awesome for me! I've heard nothing but positive reviews about it. You really can't go wrong with this one.
