I'm currently running an i5 9400F which is starting to bottleneck my RX 6700 XT, so I'm looking to upgrade to a new motherboard and CPU. I want to go with an AM5 setup for better future upgradeability. I'm not too strict on my budget, but I don't want to overspend unnecessarily. Here are my options and their prices in my country:
- Ryzen 5 7600X for $220
- Ryzen 7 7700X for $315
- Ryzen 7 7800X3D for $390
- Ryzen 7 9800X3D for $450
Also, can anyone suggest a budget-friendly yet reliable AM5 motherboard?

I’d strongly recommend going with the 7600X; it gives you the best bang for your buck. If you’re okay with importing, check out options like the 7500F or 8700F on AliExpress, since they might be cheaper. Just a thought: you could save some cash by sticking with AM4 and reusing your RAM if DDR5 isn’t a priority for you.
Good call on avoiding the 8000 series! A solid 7000 series chip will definitely outperform an 8700F in gaming.
From the options you provided, the Ryzen 7600X seems like a solid choice for your RX 6700 XT. It’s cost-effective and shouldn’t hold your GPU back.
Given the prices you listed, I think the Ryzen 7600X or the 9800X3D would be your best bets. However, the 9800X3D might be overkill for the RX 6700 XT when you consider the price point. Also, don’t forget to check for other Ryzen options like the 7600 or even something from the 9000 series if they are affordable.
Yeah, just be careful with the 8000 series. They have some issues and aren't really worth the price tag right now. Stick with the 7000 series, especially for gaming, as they perform way better without the heat issues.
