My Intel 13600K kind of died on me, and I'm looking to switch to an AMD CPU. I've been considering the Ryzen 7700, but I'm also debating whether I should go for the Ryzen 7600 since it's cheaper and the performance difference seems minimal. I primarily game at 4K 80% of the time and don't really use any CPU-heavy applications. I'm eager to hear thoughts on which CPU would be the best fit for my setup, especially since I'm interested in overclocking and undervolting.

Considering the current prices, the Ryzen 9600X seems to be the best choice. It generally matches or even surpasses the Ryzen 7700X in gaming performance, all while being more budget-friendly. If your focus is strictly on gaming, the extra cores of the 9700X might not be worth the cost right now.
For 4K gaming, the GPU usually takes the lead when it comes to performance. So the Ryzen 5 7600 should be more than capable for your needs, plus it saves some cash compared to the 7700, especially since you're not doing much beyond gaming.
Totally agree with you on the 9600X!
