Best B850 Motherboard Choices for My New PC Build?

I'm gearing up to build a new PC in the next few months and I'm torn on which motherboard to choose. I plan to pair it with a Ryzen 9 9800X3D and an RTX 5070. I've read some negative feedback about Asrock's compatibility with the 9800X3D, so I'm looking for other suggestions. What B850 motherboards would you recommend?

It's worth considering why you're opting for the B850. In most cases, the B650 should work just as well as the more premium X870E boards. Unless you're working with a budget GPU, you probably won't hit the PCIe4 limits anytime soon.

I’d recommend the MSI B850 Gaming Plus Wifi. It's been great for many builds. Honestly, I think you'd do well with any non-ASRock option; they have great features for the price, but their quality has been hit or miss lately.

I really liked the ASUS TUF B850 I picked up recently. There's a solid video from Hardware Unboxed comparing B650 motherboards on VRM performance and features if you want more info. Initially, I considered the ASUS TUF B650 and MSI B650 Gaming Plus because they were available.

You might want to check out the MSI MAG B850 TOMAHAWK MAX WIFI. It's a solid choice for performance and features.

For me, the important factors are the number of M.2 slots and price. I've had good experiences with both Asus and MSI motherboards, so I’d definitely recommend checking those out.
