I'm looking for a budget-friendly graphics card upgrade to replace my GTX 1080 in 2025, ideally something under $500. I'm also planning to upgrade my Ryzen 2700 (non-X) CPU to a faster model, but I want to stick with the AM4 platform for compatibility. Any recommendations?

For used cards, consider these options:
1. 7900 GRE ($420-$480)
2. 3080 Ti ($390-$450)
3. 6950 XT ($400-$450)
4. 4070(S) ($390-$430)
I think the 7900 GRE or the 4070S could give you the best value for your money. Also, if you're looking at CPUs, the 5700X would be a good upgrade without breaking the bank!
You might want to consider the RX 9060 XT with 16GB for around $380, or the RTX 5060 Ti with 16GB for about $430. If you're able to stretch your budget a bit, the RTX 5070 and RX 9070 are both solid choices available for $520-550. Personally, I'd lean towards the RX 9070 if you can afford it—should last you as long as the 1080 did!
Totally agree! That 9070 for $550 seems worth it. If not, the 5060 Ti is also a strong contender, even without waiting for a better deal.
You could try out GeForce Now for a while. If you find you still need a GPU after a month, look for deals on the 5070—it could be worth it!
Honestly, it might be best to just wait. With how the political climate is affecting GPU prices, things could change drastically. I know it sounds cliché, but sometimes patience pays off!
That’s the worst advice! Waiting might not get you any better options, especially with prices fluctuating. Just get a decent card now!

Where are you finding a 4070S for under $400? I just sold my TiS for $650, and I wish I'd known!
